Let me tell you, double jaw surgery is no joke. In case you don't know what double jaw surgery is, it's when a surgeon cuts both your upper and lower jaw bones and then places the bones in a new, ideal position using plates and screws. I was in the hospital for 24 hours and was given Dilaudid every 3-4 hours to keep me comfortable. But even with the pain medication, the first few weeks were tough. I had to sleep sitting up and drink liquid foods because I couldn't chew.
Not only could I not eat, but my face swelled up like a balloon, and I looked like Sloth from the Goonies. Definitely not feeling great at this point! After my surgery, I was exhausted and in a lot of pain. But the moment I slipped into those comfortable pants and button-up shirt, I felt immediately better. Not only was I more comfortable, but I also didn't have to worry about what I would wear. I felt like the only thing making me feel even remotely better was my outfit.
